Johanna Teubner-Prussak
Conductor

Mrs. Johanna Teubner-Prussak graduated with a B.S. degree from Mannes College, New York City. She studied piano with Joseph Raieff, a former pupil himself of Arthur Schnabel, and organ with Edgar Hilliar, a former student of E. Power Biggs, as well as studying all phases of music. After graduation, she continued her studies at the Julliard School of Music with Abraham Kaplan, one of America’s foremost choral conductors. She has appeared as a conductor on radio and television on numerous occasions. As a Music Director of the Pontifical Choir, Diocese of Paterson, Mrs. Teubner-Prussak conducted many concerts in the major Cathedrals in the East. She has also appeared as concert pianist and organist in recitals in Germany and the United States with great acclaim. West Deutscher Rundfunk of Köln televised a concert from Solingen, Germany in which Mrs. Teubner-Prussak appeared, and she was soloist with the Mixolydian Brass and Organ Ensemble of the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, NJ, which was televised on PBS, Channel 13.

Mrs. Teubner-Prussak conducts throughout the East and has appeared as conductor and pianist with much success at the PNC Arts Center.

She is also Director of Music of the United Methodist Church in Summit, NJ, as well as Music Director and Conductor of the Carlstadt Mixed Chorus, Deutscher Schul-und Gesangverein in Dover, and the North Plainfield Gesangverein and since the beginning in January of 2009 conductor of the Rheinischer Sängerbund of NY.
